Had a nice V-Day, for a change. Got a surprise gift from my sister and nephew, and Mom and Dad took me to a great new Lebanese restaurant. Had the best lamb kabob, tahini, and pita bread I've had in years!

Lost was better tonight than last week. What an ending! The plot thickens...

Yup, I'm a night owl, not a morning person!

I am going to the meet-up this Saturday after all! It should be fun.

Mom and I have decided to do the AMC Theaters Oscar marathon on Feb 23- all day, all five Best Picture nominees. http://www.amctheatres.com/promos/showcase/ That will be a blast! We've both already seen Atonement, so we'll sneak out for an early dinner during that. I'm most looking forward to Michael Clayton. Mom's seen it, but wants to see it again (I think she may have a bit of a crush on George Clooney!). Juno should be good, too.

February and March are going to be busy for me, I think. My aunt is going to visit in March, and we're going to do a lot of stuff in D.C. and Baltimore while she's here.

...because I'm a sheep.

What are you reading right now?
The Road by Cormac McCarthy (and I haven't so depressed by a book since I read On the Beach...) and Ordeal by Innocence by Agatha Christie.

Do you have any idea what you’ll read when you’re done with that?
Mansfield Park by Jane Austen. I keep meaning to read it, but other stuff keeps popping up! I also have a collection of Ruth Rendell stories on hold at the library.

What magazines do you have in your bathroom right now?
None.

What’s the worst thing you were ever forced to read?
Manhatten Transfer by John Dos Passos. I just couldn't get into it.

What’s the one book you always recommend to just about everyone?
Any book from Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin series! To pick just one- HMS Surprise.

Yeah...because my mom is the branch manager, I used to work there, I still volunteer. They all know me by now!

Is there a book you absolutely love, but for some reason, people never think it sounds interesting, or maybe they read it and don’t like it at all?
Anything by Dickens. A lot of my friends and family just aren't interested in his works. Bleak House is one of my favorite novels of all time, and just about everyone I know who has read it thought it was boring!
