I have a pattern that says to use evenweave and I don't wanna! I just finished a project on evenweave and my eyes need a break! Can I just switch to aida with little problem? The project is to be stitched over two threads and there are no half stitches in the pattern.
The pattern says to use 25-ct, which will create a 10.25 x 10.25 piece. The stitch count is 128 w x 128 h. How big would my piece be if I used 14ct aida instead?

Well, I'm back working from the computer hutch. I loved my round table in the corner of the office concept, but the glare was killing me--as was the dust. I'm writing in a cave again, but no glare, and lo! All my CDs are handy.
Also back is my ooooooooolllllld Gateway 2000 bought used keyboard. The action is clicky and the keys are high, but the Dell board is getting so fussy on me and it really needs a thorough cleaning; I had to go back to my old buddy. This keyboard's gotten me through quite a few fanfics; it feels good to type on it again. :^) Still, it's taking some getting used to.
We'll see how long it takes before I feel the need to redecorate yet again. LOL!

I've been searching through all the Torchwood comms that I can find, and while there are heaps for various kinds of fic, I was thinking that it might be nice to have a community specifically for beta'd fic. I know that the awesome tw_betas exists, but that is for finding/offering beta services, rather than for the fic itself.
I was wondering if people would be interested in a general Whoniverse fic community (ie, all three shows) dedicated to polished, well-developed fics. Not that we'd expect anyone to be Shakespeare or anything, but just a community where all fics are properly proofread and beta'd, with maybe a minimum fic length of 500 words.

Polaris 22 is pleased to announce that Gareth David-Lloyd and Cliff Simon have accepted our invitations to be Actor Guests this year.
As a teenager, Gareth David-Lloyd joined the Gwent Young People's Theatre in Abergavenny, where he appeared in several plays including Macbeth, The Threepenny Opera and Henry V, in which he played the title role. He went on to train at the National Youth Theatre, before moving to Reading to pursue his acting career with The Rep College. Gareth returned to Wales for the filming of his first regular television role in Torchwood. We're excited to note that Polaris will be Gareth's very first North American appearance ever!
Cliff Simon has performed all over the world in various stage productions as a dancer/acrobat, culminating in his dream role as a performer at the world famous Moulin Rouge, Paris, in 1989. Arriving in the US from his native South Africa in 2000, Cliff soon landed a guest starring role
with Don Johnson on the hit TV series, Nash Bridges. A short time after that, he acquired the guest star role of Ba'al on Stargate SG-1. Cliff was brought back to play Ba'al in the Stargate SG-1 movie "Continuum", which will be released in this year.
Both Gareth and Cliff will be attending the Blastoff Party, signing autographs, appearing onstage, and participating in our photo sessions.

3. WE'RE LOOKING FOR: DVDS OR VIDEOS OF CANADIAN MASQUERADES
The Polaris masquerade directors are looking for DVD or Video copies of Canadian Masquerades. We want to build up our archive of Masquerade footage from Polaris and all other Canadian conventions, as a resource to use in our costume panels and displays. Furthermore, the International Costumers Guild has established an archive for Masquerades, and we want to
ensure that the history of Canadian Masquerades is included in that archive.
