I just might see that many. I saw The Golden Compass yesterday, and Enchanted today. Loved them both. Tomorrow, I'll either see Sweeney Todd, or go out of town and see both Atonement and Kite Runner (depending on how I feel- was sick as a dog today). Then New Year's Eve I'm going to see either Walk Hard or Charlie Wilson's War. I haven't been to the movies in over a month, so I'm catching up!

Some other stuff and a quickie fangirl moment behind the cut...

I more or less gave up on reading The Old Curiosity Shop. I mean, I read through it, but didn't really absorb much of it. It is not one of the best works from Charles Dickens. I was actually rolling my eyes at Little Nell's death. At least I didn't laugh. The recent ITV adaptation will probably never air in the U.S., but I do have a cute screencap of Bryan Dick as Freddie (Little Nell's bad brother):

As usual, thanks to [info]qthewetsprocket  for the picture. I hope there are more (though it is a small part).

I'm about halfway through Atonement, and I have Little Children on my bedside table for my next reading! I could almost get them both in before the year is out.

It never fails- I always get a cold or something right around Christmas. I had a huge coughing fit at the end of Enchanted. I hope I feel better tomorrow- I really want to go see two movies. But I can probably only sit through one...

Sweeney Todd was great. I wasn't expecting it to be so gory. Not like "Oh I didn't realize he killed people" but "Oh I didn't realize Tim Burton was actually making a frightening movie out of this." The acting was also superb. I went in really wanting to not like Johnny Depp's voice, because it's really not great (compared to what I'm used to) but he was so good that I ended up really liking the way he sang Sweeney. It has to be the best Burton film in a long while.

Yeah, I just got back from seeing it- boy was it gory. Loved it anyway, though!
